Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 July 2026

SelftapePal is built to collect as little personal data as possible. This explains what we handle and why.

Your recordings never leave your device, and your scripts stay on it too — with one optional exception. Scenes you build and self-tapes you record are stored only on your own device. We know actors' material is often confidential or under NDA, so we don't upload or keep it. The single exception is optional AI script import (below): if you choose it for a tricky file, that script's text is sent for automated parsing. It's clearly signposted, voluntary, and easy to avoid.

Who is responsible

SelftapePal is responsible for the personal data described here (the "data controller"). Contact us any time at [email protected].

What we collect

What we do NOT store

Why we're allowed to process this (lawful basis)

Who processes data on our behalf

Some of these providers process data outside the EU (for example in the United States). They operate under standard legal safeguards for such transfers.

How long we keep things

Your email/subscription record lives with Stripe for as long as you have an account. Detailed analytics logs are automatically deleted after 90 days; only aggregated, non-personal statistics are kept beyond that. Audio is not retained by us at all.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).

Data on your device

The app stores your scenes, recordings, and settings in your browser's local storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

Children

SelftapePal isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we update this policy we'll change the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
